New Year, New Art, New Workspace
1/8/2016
The new year always seems to give me motivation not only set goals, get organized, but also to be very thankful for what I have accomplished to this point. The last few weeks I have been striving to simplify, organize and streamline anything I can in my life. This includes my painting work space. Yesterday in a whim I hauled a drafting table downstairs into my art studio corner. It is amazing how the extra work surface has made creating art so much more enjoyable. I am optimistic that this new work space is going to allow me to improve my artwork even more than I have been able to in the past. It really is amazing how a comfortable work environment can improve so much in the quality and overall production. This fox is the first piece that the new, larger workspace has been incredibly helpful with. This larger format can be troublesome on my floor easel, simply because it can be challenging to find a dry space to rest my hand. I am optimistic that with this larger space I will be able to continue to work in a larger format. I am thrilled about the progress of this piece thus far and am anxious to see it continue to evolve.
